
NEBRASKA CITY, Neb. -- The Bellevue University women's golf team had four players finish in the top five individually as the Bruins captured their seventh-straight team title, winning the Peru State Spring Invitational Tuesday at the Golf Club at Table Creek.
Bellevue, which won the title by 20 strokes, captured its eighth team title of the year.
The Bruins recorded a two-day total of 610 (302-308). Iowa Western Community College finished second with a total of 630 (321-309).
Iowa Western's Joana Yanez claimed the individual title with a 5-over par score of 149 (73-76).
Renee Santoyo was the top Bruin finisher, finishing second with a two-round total of 7-over par 151 (74-77)
Charlene Dubois placed third with a 36-hole score of 8-over 152 (74-78).
Maria Saavedra and Natalia Soria both tied for fifth place with 11-over par 155 totals.
Karissa Moreland finished ninth with a 159 (76-83) total.
The eighth-ranked Bruins will travel to Panora, Iowa this Friday-Saturday, April 11-12, to compete in the AIB Spring Invitational being played at the Lake Panorama Golf Course.
