Bellevue in first place at Peru State Invitational

NEBRASKA CITY,  Neb. -- The 8th-ranked Bellevue University women's golf team leads the five-team field by 19 strokes after the first day of competition at the Peru State Spring Invitational at the Golf Club at Table Creek on Sunday.

The Bruins finished the opening round with a score of 302. Iowa Western Community College sits in second place with a round of 321.

Renee Santoyo and Charlene Dubois are both tied for second place overall after firing two-over-par scores of 74.

Karissa Moreland is in fifth with a 76 and Maria Saavedra placed sixth after carding a 78 while Natalia Soria is currently in a tie seventh place after posting a 79.

Izzy Hernandez (80) and Jayme Harmelink (82), both competing as individuals, finished in ninth and 11th place, respectively. 

Joana Yanez of Iowa Western CC leads the field with a one-over-par score of 73.

The two-day tournament will wrap-up tomorrow (April 7) with a shotgun start at 10:00 a.m.
