OSKALOOSA, Iowa -- The Bellevue University women's golf team sits in second place after the first round of competition at the MidWestOne Bank Invitational hosted by William Penn University at Edmundson Golf Course on Friday.

Host William Penn leads the nine-team field with a total score of 315 while Bellevue is just one stroke behind the Statesmen with a team score of 316.

Renee Santoyo and Natalia Soria pace the Bruins with rounds of 75 to finish in a tie for second overall.

Maria Saavedra is tied for seventh place after a first day score of 81. Karissa Moreland is tied for 10th after firing a round of 85.

Christina VonRiesen carded a 91 to tie for 23rd overall.

Competing as an individual, Jayme Harmelink tallied an 86 to place 15th.

The Bruins will conclude the MidWestOne Bank Invitational tomorrow (Oct. 12).
