LINCOLN, Neb. -- The Bellevue University women's golf team won its second tournament of the fall season on Tuesday at the Doane Invitational at the Wilderness Ridge Golf Course.

The Bruins finished with a two-day total of 657, 14 strokes ahead of Savannah College of Art and Design - Atlanta and William Penn University who both finished tied for second (671).

BU was paced by Renee Santoyo who finished in third after a two-day total of 158.

Maria Saavedra and Natalia Soria also finished in the top 10. Saavedra tied for seventh after rounds of 82 and 80 while Soria notched a ninth place finish with scores of 83 and 80.

Other Bruin golfers that competed included Jayme Harmelink (89-85--174) and Karissa Moreland (96-89--185).

Natalie Ugalde (Wayland Baptist) was the individual champion by scorecard playoff over Dakota Wesleyan's Lauren Fitts. Both players shot a two-round total of 157.

The BU women's golf team will travel to Maryville, Mo. for the Northwest Missouri State Bearcat Fall Classic on Oct. 7-8.
