OKLAHOMA CITY -- The Bellevue University women's golf team finished in fifth place at the Susie Maxwell Berning Classic on Tuesday at Lincoln Park Golf Course.
Redlands Community College won the team title by one stroke over host Oklahoma City University with a total score of 895. The Bruins placed fifth with a three-round total of 926.
Renee Santoyo paced the Bruins with an eighth place finish after scores of 78-76-72 (226) while Maria Saavedra tied for 14th with a two-day total of 230.
Other Bruin golfers included Karissa Moreland (74-79-82--235), Natalia Soria (76-79-83--238) and Christina VonRiesen (83-83-80--246)
BU will return to action on Sept. 23-24 when they compete in the NAIA Preview at Wilderness Ridge Golf Course in Lincoln, Neb.
