Bruins, Santoyo in first place after opening round of BU Fall Invite

PAPILLION, Neb. -- Led by Renee Santoyo and Natalia Soria, the Bellevue University women's golf team leads the six-team Bellevue Fall Invitational by 10 strokes after the first round of competition at Eagle Hills Golf Course on Monday.

Santoyo and Soria are in first and second place, recording scores of 77 and 78, respectively.

Maria Saavedra also tallied a top-five finish with a first round score of 79 to place fourth overall while Christina VonRiesen is tied for ninth with a round of 84.

Other Bruin golfers included Karissa Moreland (85) and Jayme Harmelink (87).

Bellevue concluded the day with a team total of 318. NCAA Division II University of Nebraska at Kearney sits in second with a score of 328.

The tournament will conclude tomorrow (Sept. 10) with a 9:00 a.m. shotgun start.
