Trio named Women's Collegiate Golf All-American Scholars

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. -- Sophomores Christina VonRiesen and Jayme Harmelink and freshman Renee Santoyo were named Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-American Scholars in an announcement made today by the organization. 

A total of 644 women's collegiate golfers from NCAA Division I, II, and III as well as NAIA, were recognized with this presigious honor. 

The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team is some of the most stringent in all of collegiate athletics. The minimum cumulative GPA is 3.50. 

The trio also helped pace the Bruins to an 11th-place finish at the 2013 NAIA Women's Golf National Championship in Lincoln, Neb. on May 21-24. It was the first-ever appearance for BU in the national tournament. Santoyo and Maria Saavedra became the first All-Americans in Bellevue women's golf history.
