LINCOLN, Neb. -- The Bellevue University women's golf team remains in 12th place after the second day of competition in the 27-team NAIA National Championships Wednesday at the Wilderness Ridge Golf Course hosted by Doane College.
Cal State University-San Marcos and Oklahoma City University are both tied for first place with a two-day total of 615.
Jessica Schiele (Oklahoma City) is the individual tournament leader after posting a four-under-par score of 68.
Maria Saavedra shot the Bruins' top round of the day with a six-over-par 78, and helped BU equal its first round team total of 319 for a 36-hole score of 638.
Natalia Soria fired an 81 on the day and is currently tied for 41st place with a 159 (78-81) total.
Renee Santoyo finished with a seven-over 79 and is in a tie for 47th place with a two-day total of 160 (81-79).
Christina VonRiesen matched her first round score with an 81 for a 36-hole score of 162, good for a four-way tie for 60th place overall.
Izzy Hernandez rounded out the Bruins' scoring with an 85 for a 168 (83-85) total.
The Bruins will tee-off tomorrow (May 23) beginning at 1:45 p.m.
The tournament is a 72-hole event with the final round scheduled for Friday, May 24. The top 17 teams after the third round will advance to the final day of competition.
