POINT LOOKOUT, Mo. -- Freshman Maria Saavedra was named the MCAC Women's Golfer of the Week in an announcement made today by the league office.
A native of Mexico City, Mexico, Saavedra won her fourth individual title of the season last week with rounds of 77 and 73 to finish 5-over-par at the Oklahoma Baptist University Spring Invitational.
The Bruins also earned the team title, their sixth of the season.
Bellevue will wrap up play today in the Creighton Classic at Oak Hills Country Club in Omaha. The Bruins are currently in fifth place and Saavedra is tied for second.
