Bruins, Saavedra lead after first day at OBU Spring Invite

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla -- The Bellevue University women's golf team had four players in the top 10 individually as the Bruins took a 15-stroke lead after the first day of competition at the Oklahoma Baptist University Spring Invite.

The Bruins shot an opening-round team score of 317, 15 shots ahead of McMurry University's 332. Rogers State is in third at 335 and the host school OBU is in fourth at 340. 

Maria Saavedra is tied for first with a first round score of 5-over 77. Renee Santoyo shot a 78 and is in third place. Natalia Soria and Christina VonRiesen both shot 81's and are tied for seventh. 

The tournament will conclude on Tuesday (April 9) at the Earlywine Golf Course
