PAPILLION, Neb. -- Led by Maria Saavedra, the Bellevue University women's golf team won a triangular meet over Minot State University and Iowa Western Community College on Wednesday at Eagle Hills Golf Course, finishing with a team score of 305.
The Bruins won by 26 strokes over second place IWCC, which finished with a 331 total. Minot State came in third with a total team tally of 344.
Saavedra was the top finisher, recording a 1-over par total of 73. Natalia Soria placed second with a 76. Renee Santoyo tied for third with a 5-over total of 77. Izzy Hernandez and Christina VonRiesen rounded out BU's scoring with a 79 and 81, respectively.
The Bruins will head to Shawnee, Okla. on April 8-9 to participate in the Oklahoma Baptist Spring Invitational.
