Bruins in second after first day at Warner Golf Classic

Round 1 Results

SEBRING, Fla. -- The Bellevue University women's golf team is currently in second place after the first round of competition in the Warner Golf Classic at the Sun'n Lake Golf & Country Club.

The Bruins shot a first round total of 349, three shots off the pace of tournament leader Webber International University. 

Individually, Maria Saavedra and Izzy Hernandez are both tied for sixth place with first round scores of 84. Renee Santoyo is in ninth place with an 18-hole total of 86. Christina VonRiesen sits in a tie for 25th with a 95. Jayme Harmelink shot a 102, which is tied for 29th. 

Paige Moffat of Johnson & Wales leads the tournament field with a first round score of 80. 

The tournament will conclude on Tuesday with an 8 a.m. start.
