
SMITHVILLE, Mo. -- Led by Maria Saavedra's second-place finish, the Bellevue University women's golf team captured the team title Tuesday at the Park University Fall Invite played at the Posse at Paradise Pointe.
The victory marked the third team championship for Bellevue during the fall season.
The Bruins outshot second-place Grand View University by 24 strokes, with a two-day total of 647.
Saavedra shot a two-day total of 153 (75-78), two strokes behind Lincoln University's Kaitlyn Schwartze's 151.
Izzy Hernandez finished in fifth place with a 163 (80-83) total. Renee Santoyo placed sixth with a two-round score of 164 (83-81). Christina VonRiesen notched a ninth-place showing with a 167 (83-84).
The tournament concludes the Bruins' fall season.
