LINCOLN, Neb. -- Freshman Renee Santoyo shot a 2-over par 73 to help guide the Bellevue University women's golf team to a fourth-place finish at the 21-team NAIA Preview Meet hosted by Doane College at the Wilderness Ridge Golf Course.
The Bruins will travel to Polk, Iowa, to participate in the Grand View Classic on Sunday-Monday, Sept. 30-Oct. 1 at the Tournament Club of Iowa.
Santoyo finished the tournament in a tie for third place with a two-day total of 150 (77-73). Maria Saavedra recorded a two-round score of 160 (79-81), which put her it a tie for 17th place. Christina VonRiesen placed 21st with a 162 (83-79). Izzy Hernandez finished tied for 28th with a 169 (88-81).
Lubbock Christian ran away with the team title with a two-day total of 592 (302-290), 24 strokes ahead of second-place William Woods.
LCU's Sinae Montoya was the tournament medalist, finishing 2-under for the tournament (74-66 -- 140). The Chaps' Anna Schopp finished second at 3-over par (74-71 -- 145).
