PAPILLION, Neb. -- Freshman Maria Saavedra won the individual title to pace the Bellevue University women's golf team to the team title at the 2012 Bellevue University Fall Invite Tuesday at Eagle Hills Golf Course.
Saavedra shot a 6-over two-day total of 150 (74 -76) to win the individual title by eight strokes over fellow Bruin Renee Santoyo (79 - 79 - 158). Christina VonRiesen tied for third with a 163 (81 -82) total.
The Bruins will travel to Lincoln, Neb. on Sept. 24-25 for the NAIA Preview Classic hosted by Doane College.
