FREMONT, Neb. -- The Bellevue University women's golf team, led by Ana Laura Gomez' runner-up finish, placed third at the Warrior Fall Invite hosted by Midland University at the Fremont Golf Club on Tuesday. Gomez, Taylor Byers and Christina VonRiesen were named to the all-tournament team.

After winning the individual title in the Bruins' last tournament, Gomez paced the team with a second place finish with a score of 81.

Two other Bruins finished in the top 10, including Byers who tied for sixth place with a score of 88, while VonRiesen shot 89 to tie for eighth overall.

Other Bruin golfers included Jayme Harmelink (99) and Dawn Florance (103).

The Bruins finished with a score of 357, 16 strokes behind Dakota Wesleyan University who finished with the top team score (341) and individual scorer (Danielle Bellet, 72). Morningside College placed second with a score of 351.

The BU women's golf team will be back in action on Sept. 30-Oct. 1 when they participate in the Dakota Wesleyan Invitational in Mitchell, S.D.
