Two from BU honored in NSAA Awards program

BISMARCK, N.D. -- Bellevue University senior guards Ashtyn Arnold (Clovis, Calif.) and Gabby Moore (Webster Groves, Mo.) were recognized by the North Star Athletic Association in the annual Postseason Awards program.

After earning honorable mention recognition a season ago, Arnold was selected to the all-NSAA first team. She was also named to the all-Defense team. Arnold started all 28 games this season, averaging 14.5 points and 7.9 rebounds per game while shooting 45.6% from the floor and dishing out a team-high 79 assists. She ranked sixth in the conference in scoring, third in rebounding, and sixth in assists, while her field goal percentage was good for fourth among players with at least 300 field goal attempts.

On Senior Night, Arnold became the third member of the Bellevue women's basketball 1,000-point club. She finished her career ranked third all-time in scoring (1,066) and in rebounds (634), fifth in assists (218), eighth in steals (92), third in field goal percentage (44.3%), and first in free throw percentage (78.5%). Her 53 double-figure scoring games, 13 double-digit rebounds games, and 13 double-doubles are all good for third all-time, and her 20-rebound performance against Briar Cliff earlier this season was a program single-game record.

Within conference play, Arnold was even better. She led the North Star in rebounding at 8.5 (128 total) boards per game and was fifth in scoring average (16.4) and fourth in points scored with 246. Her field goal percentage of 48.3% ranked fifth in the league and second among guards, and her 2.7 assists per game ranked eighth in conference play.

Moore was a second-team all-NSAA selection for the second straight season. She averaged a team-high and program-record 17.1 points per game, while her 89 three-pointers also set a record for the women's basketball program. She shot 32.8% from three and 64.8% at the free-throw line while dishing out 56 assists and totaling 23 steals. She led the conference in three-point field goals made and finished second in scoring average.

In the Bruins' final regular season game, Moore reached the 1,000-point plateau when combining her Bruin totals with her numbers from junior college. She departs Bellevue as the program's fifth all-time leading scorer (847) and first in career scoring average (15.1). She also finishes her career ranked ninth in assists (143) and fifth in three-point field goals made (150). Her 48 double-figure scoring games rank fourth all-time, and her 13 20-point games are good for second in program history.

Moore ranked sixth in the NSAA in scoring at 16.0 points per game in league play, as she put up 240 points across 15 conference games. She was the league leader in three-pointers made (40) and three-point field goals made per game (2.7).

Bellevue posted a 15-13 record this season, tying for third in the conference during the regular season, and earned hosting rights for a first-round conference tournament game earlier this week.
