BISMARCK, N.D. -- Senior Ashtyn Arnold has been honored as the North Star Athletic Association Women's Basketball Defensive Player of the Week for her performances in last weekend's season-opening wins over Southwestern Christian University and Mount Mercy University.
Arnold averaged 10 rebounds per game, including eight defensive boards in each contest while adding a steal and a blocked shot. She averaged 12.5 points per game while shooting 42.1 percent from the field in the Bruins' two wins.
BU defeated Southwestern Christian, 80-66, in the first game of the BU Chick-Fil-A Classic and finished the tournament with a 75-74 victory over Mount Mercy.
The Bruins will travel to Hillsboro, Kan., this Friday-Saturday, Nov. 8-9, to compete in the Tabor College Classic. Bellevue will take on Bethany (Kan.) on Friday at 5 p.m. and wrap up the tournament with a 3 p.m. contest on Saturday against host school Tabor.
