
WATERTOWN, S.D. -- The North Star Athletic Association announced this evening the 2021-22 All-Conference teams and major award winners.
For the fourth-straight season, Elexis Martinez (Omaha, Neb.) earned first team all-conference recognition. Martinez leads the Bruins in scoring and rebounding with 13.8 points and 6.0 rebounds per game. She has been even better in conference play averaging 14.1 points per game and 2.1 assists per contests in league play.
Asha Scott (Washington, D.C.) picked up Newcomer of the Year honors and received honorable mention all-conference status. Scott is BU's third leading scorer and second leading rebounder on the year at 11.2 points and 5.9 rebounds per game. Since Christmas, she leads Bellevue in scoring (14.1), rebounding (7.6), assists (41), and steals (23) along with being second in field goal percentage at 47 percent.
Faith Ross, who earned second team all-NSAA honors each of the previous three seasons, earned honorable mention accolades this year. Ross is Bellevue's second leading scorer at 11.8 points per game and leads the team with 61 three-point field goals and is shooting a team-best 81% from the charity stripe.
In addition, Meleah Turner was cited as Bellevue's Champions of Character representative.
Bellevue is the sixth-seed in the NSAA Tournament. They face No. 2-seed Mayville State tomorrow at 3 p.m. with the winner advancing to the Championship at 1 p.m. on Sunday.
