MADISON, S.D. -- Junior guard Faith Ross has been named the North Star Athletic Association's Women's Basketball Player of the Week for her performances in the Bruins' two road wins in the state of California last week.
Ross averaged 21.5 points and eight rebounds per game in leading BU to a pair of wins against San Diego Christian College and Westcliff University. She tied a program record with 29 points in the win over San Diego Christian. Ross followed that up with 14 points, seven rebounds, and a pair of assists in the win over Westcliff.
Ross shot 48 percent from the field and 41 percent from beyond the arc on the week. She was a perfect 8-of-8 from the free-throw line.
After 14 games, Ross is second on the team with 12.7 points per game. She leads the Bruins with 33 three-pointers, 36 assists, and 15 steals.
The Bruins (6-8/0-1 NSAA) will host the Hampton Inn Bruin Classic on Dec. 29-30 in the Gordon Lozier Athletic Center. BU will take on Clarke at 3 p.m. on Dec. 29 and Mount Mercy at 3 p.m. on Dec. 30.
