Hill named NSAA Player of the Week

MADISON, S.D. -- Senior Brittany Hill has been named the North Star Athletic Association's women's basketball Player of the Week for her performances in the Bruins' two victories last week over Mayville State and Dakota State, the two teams BU was tied with atop the conference standings, going into the final game of the regular season. 

Hill propelled the Bruins to the two wins, which helped BU claim a share of the NSAA regular-season title with MSU. She scored 25 points (8-of-16 field goals, 3-of-5 3-pointers, and 6-of-8 free-throws) and grabbed three rebounds in Bruins' 87-78 upset over No. 14-ranked Mayville State.  She followed that up with 19 points and five steals in an 83-72 victory over Dakota State (S.D.). 

For the week, Hill averaged 22 points (44 total points), 2.5 steals (5 total steals), 2.0 rebounds (4 total rebounds) and 1.5 assists (3 total assists).  She was 14-of-29 from the field (48.3 percent), 6-of-11 from the 3-point arc (54.5 percent) and made 10-of-12 free-throws.

The Bruins earned the No. 1 seed for the NSAA Post-Season Tournament and will host No. 8 Presentation at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 25 in the Gordon Lozier Athletic Center. The Semifinals and Championship Game will be played on Feb. 29-Mar. 1 in Watertown, S.D. at the Watertown Civic Arena.
