
BELLEVUE, Neb. -- Behind a 28-4 advantage in points off turnovers the (RV) Bellevue University women's basketball team downed Cottey College 64-43 in a sloppily played non-conference game at the Gordon Lozier Athletic Center on Saturday afternoon.

Bellevue forced Cottey into 32 turnovers which they Bruins turned into a 28-4 advantage in points off turnovers.
Kelsey Acton scored a game-high 14 points for the Comets and totaled five steals.
Cottey held a sizable 56-34 advantage on the glass, including an 18-9 edge in offensive rebounds, but could were out-scored 10-8 in second chance points.
BU knocked down 10 treys as a team, led by three from Laura Jurek. Angeliece Tucker, Jamie Winkler, and Miranda Hennings each sank a pair.
Jurek led a balanced Bruins offensive effort with nine points. In total, 11 different Bruins scored on the day. Hennings and Winkler each went for eight while Elexis Martinez added seven points, a team-best seven rebounds, five blocked shots, and three steals.
Shayla Dean and Ross co-led the team with four assists apiece as BU assisted on 16 of their 23 made baskets.
