MADISON, S.D. -- For the second time this season, freshman Katie Cunningham has earned North Star Athletic Association Pitcher of the Week honors for her performances in last week's conference four-game sweep over Waldorf University. Cunningham also earned the honor on March 28.
Cunningham tossed a two-hit complete-game shutout in BU's 9-0 victory over the Warrior on April 15. She did not allow a walk while striking out eight WU batters in seven innings in the circle.
At the plate, Cunningham went 4-for-7 with a double and an RBI.
On the season, Cunningham leads the Bruins with nine wins and 89 strikeouts in 84.2 innings pitched while maintaining a 2.48 ERA. She currently leads the NSAA in total strikeouts and is third with her 2.48 ERA.
The Bruins will host Dakota State University in a 3 p.m. NSAA doubleheader on Wednesday, April 20 at Roy Smith Field.
