MADISON, S.D. -- For the second time this season and the third time in her career, junior Lauren Jurek was named the North Star Athletic Association's Pitcher of the Week for her efforts in the Bruins' four-game series at Dickinson State University.
Jurek tossed a four-hit complete-game shutout and the Bruins outhit DSU, 8-4, en route to a 7-0 shutout victory in BU's opening game on April 9. She improved to 5-2 on the season, allowing just four hits while walking one and striking out four in seven innings of work.
On the season, Jurek is third on the team with 38 strikeouts while maintaining a 3.00 ERA.
Bellevue (24-11, 10-2 NSAA) will head to York, Neb. on Wed., April 13, for a single non-conference contest at York College beginning at 5 p.m. The Bruins are currently leading in the latest NSAA Standings and are receiving votes in the latest NAIA Coaches' Top 25 Poll.
