MADISON, S.D. -- Bellevue University sophomore Erin Sharpe became the first Bruin to be named the North Star Athletic Association's Player and Pitcher of the Week during the same week. Last week Sharpe was terrific with the bat, in the circle, and in the field as she led the Bruins to a perfect 8-0 record on the week while helping them up their win streak to nine-straight games.

At the dish Sharpe continued to prove why she is one of the most feared hitters in the nation. She slashed an outrageous .591/.690/1.591 with 7 home runs and 18 RBI. She recorded four multi-hit games, including a pair of 3-hit efforts, and had at least one extra-base hit in five games. In a 14-5 NSAA victory over Waldorf on Friday Sharpe recorded Bellevue's first three-home run game since 2013 and she followed that up with home runs in each game of Saturday's double-header. As a result of her week she now owns the Bellevue single-season record for both home runs (26) and RBI (75).

Sharpe was equally effective in the circle as she earned three pitching victories on the week. In tossing 13.1 innings she was a perfect 3-0 with a 0.51 ERA, .163 opponent batting average, and a tidy 0.805 WHIP. She struck out 15 batters (7.68 SO/7 innings) against just three walks for a 5:1 strikeout to walk ratio. Her week was highlighted with her throwing her first career no-hitter (she didn't issue a walk either) in a 9-0 win in the series finale against Waldorf without issuing a walk. It was the first no-hitter of her career as she improved her season W-L record to 9-1

Bellevue wrapped up the regular-season with an overall record of 45-12 and an NSAA mark of 20-6 en route to capturing the NSAA Regular-Season Championship and earning the top seed in this weekend's NSAA Tournament to be held in Dickinson, N.D. BU begins the tournament at 11 a.m. on Friday against eighth-seeded Waldorf University.
