CLERMONT, Fla. -- Maddie Siedlik singled home a pair of runs in the first and Kelli Fisher made the early lead stand up by firing a complete game shutout as the No. 22 Bellevue University softball team defeated No. 15 Davenport University, 2-0, on Saturday morning in their first game at THE Spring Games.

Bellevue improves to 1-5 with the victory while the Panthers fall to 11-3 on the year.

The Bruins loaded the bases in the bottom of the first on three-straight two-out walks to bring Siedlik to the plate. She singled to right center to chase home both Erin Sharpe and Kayla Young, who had walked to start the rally, staking BU to the early 2-0 lead.

Davenport's best chance in the early going came in the top of the second inning. The Panthers put a pair of runners on without recording an out against Fisher. The Bruin starter, with help from her defense, escaped the jam when Alex Tooley gunned down the runner headed to third on the play before striking out the seven and eight batters to end the inning.

The teams traded zeroes the rest of the way as Bellevue picked up their first win of the year. Fisher (1-3, 3.08) went the distance in the circle, scattering seven hits and striking out six while issuing just one free pass.

Tooley led the Bruins with a pair of hits in a 2-for-4 day while Siedlik, Michaela Miller, Courtney Schendt, and Sarah Zeleny each added hits for the Bruins. Zeleny's hit, a double, was the lone extra base knock of the game.

Carli SanMillan and Lindsay Tasma each had a pair for hits for Davenport. Mallory Teunissen (5-1) took the loss for the Panthers, going six innings and allowing a pair of runs on six hits and three walks. She struck out nine.

Bellevue will get a couple hours to rest before heading back out to the diamond for a 1 p.m. tilt against Spring Arbor University.
