Gigax grabs fourth MCAC Player of the Week honor

BELLEVUE, Neb. -- For the fourth time this season and the sixth time in her career, senior second baseman Ashley Gigax has been named the Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week for her efforts in the Bruins' four games last week. 

Gigax helped the Bruins to a 3-1 record on the week, batting .714 with three home runs, a double and six RBIs. She had an eye-popping 2.143 slugging percentage on the week. 

In the Bruins' 9-0 win over Nebraska Wesleyan, Gigax slammed two home runs while going 3-for-3 at the plate with four RBIs. 

The Bruins will host York College in an MCAC doubleheader Tuesday (April 21) night at 5 p.m. at Hall of Fame Fields. Gigax along with fellow seniors Shelby Kindelin and Taylor Mohler will be honored in a short ceremony in between games.
