POINT LOOKOUT, Mo. -- Bellevue University junior Ashley Gigax was named this week's Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference Softball Player of the Week in an announcement made today.
In six games last week, Gigax batted .474 with two doubles, four runs scored and seven RBIs. She also finished with four multi-hit games.
For the season, Gigax is hitting .329 with one triple, one home run, 15 runs and 16 RBIs. She leads the team with six doubles and a .486 slugging percentage.
The Bruins will return to action tomorrow (April 1) when they play a 5:00 p.m. nonconference doubleheader against Concordia (Neb.) University (19-4, 5-1 GPAC) at Hall of Fame Fields.
Bellevue is currently 14-10 overall and 2-2 in conference action.
