ORANGE CITY, Iowa -- The Red Raiders outhit Bellevue University by seven and used a four-run fourth inning en route to a 6-0 win in nonconference action Tuesday at Dutch Diamonds.
The second game in the scheduled doubleheader was canceled due to cold weather conditions.
With the win, Northwestern improved to 11-9 while Bellevue dropped to 8-6 overall.
Morgan Means hit a thee-run home run and Jordan Biehle notched an RBI single to put NWC up 4-0 in the fourth inning.
Back-to-back RBI doubles in the fifth inning gave the Red Raiders the 6-0 win.
Despite striking out 11 out batters, Taylor Mohler (4-3) took the loss. She gave up six runs on nine hits with four walks.
Keely Bracelin earned the win for NWC and improved to 3-2. She tallied six strikeouts, without a walk, in the complete game two-hitter.
Katy Shupe and Ashley Gigax registered BU's two hits.
The Bruins will host Ottawa University (10-9) tomorrow (March 19) in a 3:00 p.m. nonconference doubleheader at Hall of Fame Fields.
