CLERMONT, Fla. -- The Bellevue University softball team recorded a doubleheader sweep over Hannibal-LaGrange University Thursday morning, winning 18-3 and 9-1, in continuing action at the National Training Center Spring Games.
The Bruins improved to 7-8 on the season with the sweep.
Kathryn Wardian blasted two home runs in the Bruins' 18-3 win in the opener as Bellevue exploded for seven runs in the third inning and eight more in the seventh. Katie Malloy finished 4-for-5 at the plate and Amanda Neumann went 3-for-5 while also picking up the win in the circle.
Shelby Kindelin blasted two doubles in the nightcap and also recorded the win on the mound. Malloy went 2-for-2 with a double and a home run.
The Bruins will conclude action in the tournament on Friday (March 9) with a 3 p.m. game against St. Mary's (Minn.) University and a 7 p.m. contest versus University of St. Francis (Ill.)
