
Bellevue University head softball coach Michala Cimino announced today the addition of junior college outfielder Alyssa Matoba (Pleasant Hill, Calif.) for the 2013 season.
Matoba was a two-year starter at Diablo Valley College where she earned second team all-conference honors as a utility player.
The daughter of Roger and Karen Matoba, Alyssa led Diablo Valley College in batting average, stolen bases, runs scored, and multi-hit games.
During her prep career, Matoba was a four-year letterwinner at College Park High School where she batted .410 her senior season with 18 RBIs.
An excellent student, Matoba earned Scholar-Athlete honors and was named to the Dean's List three semesters.
The Bruins finished the 2012 season with a 44-16 overall record and a 13-1 league mark, claiming a share of the MCAC regular season title with No. 4-ranked Central Baptist College. As a team, BU shattered the school record for home runs in a season with 70.
