Bellevue falls to No. 14 Lindsey Wilson, 8-0

GULF SHORES, Ala. -- The Bellevue University softball team fell to 14th-ranked Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) College, 8-0, Friday evening in its second game of pool play at the NAIA National Softball Championship at the Gulf Shores Sportsplex.

Lindsey Wilson improved to 47-7 while Bellevue dropped to 31-19 overall.

The Bruins will conclude pool play tomorrow (May 21) with a 10:00 a.m. game against No. 25 Minot State (N.D.) University. 

The Blue Raiders scored their first run of the game on a RBI double to right center field by Ally Goniea in the first inning.
 
LWC added two runs in the third inning and three runs in the fourth with RBI doubles by Emily Priar and Goniea to take a 6-0 lead.

The Blue Raiders ended the game with two runs in the sixth inning on a RBI single by Amy Harner and a sacrifice fly by Goniea.

Anyibell Ramirez picked up the win for the Blue Raiders and improved to 29-6 this season, allowing just one walk with six strikeouts in four innings of work. Amanda Neumann took the loss for BU, falling to 22-10 on the year.

LWC out-hit BU, 10-1, and registered four doubles.
