OMAHA, Neb. -- Sophomore Amanda Neumann tossed a no-hitter in the opener and the Bruins pounded out 13 hits, including three home runs, in the nightcap en route to a 4-0, 12-2 doubleheader sweep over College of St. Mary Wednesday afternoon in MCAC action at Heritage Park.

Neumann fanned 18 batters on the day, including a career-high 16 in the opener, setting the BU single-season record in the process. She now has 192 strikeouts in 2011, surpassing Alissa Crumley who recorded 187 strikeouts last season. 

Bellevue improved to 26-17 overall and 10-0 in MCAC play. The Flames dropped to 6-26 on the season and 5-7 in the MCAC.

Game 1 
Neumann struck out 16 batters and allowed only one walk while recording her first no-hitter and fourth shutout of the season. The Bruin offense backed Neumann's pitching, scoring one run in each of the first four innings. 

Brooke Ellis collected a pair of hits and Neumann, Kim Wees, Katie Malloy, and Katie Tew all recorded an RBI in the win.

Game 2
Kathryn Wardian blasted a pair of home runs and Ellis produced a grand slam as the Bruins cruised to the 12-2 five-inning win in the nightcap. Wardian finished 3-for-4 with three RBIs and Ellis was 1-for-3 with four RBIs and three runs scored. Malloy collected a pair of hits and two RBIs as 14 Bruins saw action in the victory.

Bellevue scored 10 runs in the first two innings highlighted by back-to-back homers from Ellis and Wardian in the top of the Bruins' seven-run second inning. 

Allie Bartley picked up the win, scattering five hits to go along with three strikeouts, while improving to 5-2 on the season.

The Bruins will conclude the regular season on Thursday (April 28) when they host Haskell Indian Nations University in a 3 p.m. doubleheader at Hall of Fame Fields.
