BARTLESVILLE, Okla. -- The Bellevue University softball team remained undefeated in conference play with a 5-2, 4-1 sweep at Oklahoma Wesleyan University Sunday afternoon.
The Bruins improved to 20-13 overall and 6-0 in the Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference. OWU fell to 17-29 and 4-6 in league play.
Senior Jessica Guyle led the Bruin offense in the opener, going 2-for-4 and scoring two runs. Amanda Neumann (14-6) recorded 11 strikeouts and scattered four hits while picking up her 14th win of the season.
In the nightcap, Bellevue broke a 1-1 tie in the top of the sixth with back-to-back-to-back home runs by Neumann, Brooke Ellis, and Kathryn Wardian to secure the sweep.Kelly Wieczorek (2-5) allowed just four hits while picking up the win.
