BELLEVUE, Neb. -- The Bellevue University softball team recorded a pair of five-inning victories Saturday, sweeping Central Christian College 10-1 and 10-2 in an MCAC doubleheader at Haworth Park.

The Bruins, under Head Coach Michala Cimino, improved to 16-9 on the season and 4-0 in the MCAC. Central Christian fell to 4-19 overall and 0-4 in league play.

GAME 1
The Bruins belted 15 hits en route to the 10-1 victory in the opener. Kendra Gansz, Kara Erwin, and Allie Bartley collected two RBIs apiece to lead the BU attack.

A two-run single to left field by Bartley highlighted a four-run five-hit first inning for the Bruins. Bellevue tacked on three runs in the second on singles by Erica McCoy, Kim Wees, Brooke Ellis, and Gansz.

The Bruins added three runs in the third, highlighted by McCoy's triple and an RBI single by Morgan Wiesner, giving BU a 10-0 cushion.

An RBI single by Jenessa Ternes in the top of the fifth inning prevented the shutout.

Alissa Crumley allowed just five hits and struck out nine Tigers with no walks to earn the win.

GAME 2
Trailing 3-2 entering the bottom of the fourth inning, the Bruins scored ten runs over the fourth and fifth frames to capture the 10-2 win.

Neither team scored until Jessica Ball's single up the middle in the top of the third inning gave the Tigers a 1-0 lead, forcing Bruin starter Kimber Markley to be replaced by Crumley. Tiffany Burget's bases loaded walk made it 2-0.

An RBI single through the left side by Wees in the fourth cut the lead to 2-1. Gansz' two-run triple gave the Bruins the lead at 3-2.

The Bruins batted through the lineup and erupted for seven runs on seven hits in the fifth inning to put the game away.

Crumley earned the win, improving to 8-2 on the year, allowing just one hit while recording one strikeout and one walk in 2.2 innings of work.
