Ellis named second team All-American

DECATUR, Ala. -- Senior outfielder Jordann Ellis (Carlisle, Iowa) earned second team NAIA All-American honors in an announcement made today (May 20) just prior to the championship game at the 29th Annual NAIA Softball National Championships.

The 2009 Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Year, Ellis led the Bruins to an undefeated (12-0) conference season and to a 29-13 overall record. 

A two-time first team all-conference selection, Ellis led the 2009 Bruins and the league with a .449 batting average, 15 home runs and 47 RBIs.

Nationally, Ellis ranked third in home runs per game (0.36), ninth in slugging percentage (.860) and 17th in RBIs (1.12 pg).

In addition to her athletic honors, Ellis was also named a Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athlete along with fellow Bruins Kady Revis and Whitney Kinman.
