CRETE, Neb. -- Edrei Murillo and Desyebelew Debesh both turned in solid performances on Friday as the Bruins competed in the Fred Beile Classic at the Fuhrer Fieldhouse on the campus of Doane University.
Edrei Murillo lowered the school-record time in the 3,000 meters by nine seconds from the previous mark held by Debesh, as he placed seventh in 9:35.87.
Debesh had a good afternoon by setting two personal bests, running to a sixth-place finish in the mile by running 4:46.37 and coming back to run 2:47.31 in the 1,000 meters, just 0.09 seconds from the current school record.

The Bruins will compete in the Concordia University Invite on Friday, Feb. 14 in Seward, Neb. beginning at 2 p.m.
