BROOKINGS, S.D. -- A small Bruin distance track squad concluded their season at Sunday's NSAA Indoor Track and Field Championships held at the Sanford-Jackrabbit Athletic Complex on the South Dakota State University campus. A total of five Bruins took part in two events, the mile run and the 3,000-meter run.

Olivia Russo ran to a tenth-place finish in the mile run, clocking a time of 6:11.40. The remaining Bruin athletes contested the 3,000-meter run, with three of four runners posting a season-best, highlighted by Collin Kotz running the fourth-best time in Bruin history. Kotz missed an All-Conference award (top 3) by just 0.03 seconds, running 9:14.07, a six-second improvement on his previous outing. Griffin Kipchumba reduced his season best by eight seconds, recording a 9:42.30. For the Bruin women, Alicia Rivera Camargo put her name on the Bruin top ten list with a 11:56.02, a huge 35-second improvement. Ashley Guatemala was the final Bruin competitor, running 12:59.99.

Head Coach Craig Christians: "We finished on a high note on what has been a tough indoor season filled with injuries and illness. We'll take about a month to do some training and be ready to go outdoors at the end of March."

The Bruins open their outdoor season on March 23 at the Viking Relays hosted by Grandview University in Des Moines.
