
SEWARD, Neb. -- The Bruin distance track team concluded their regular season indoor track schedule at Friday's Concordia Invite and came away with several season bests and a Top Five All-Time mark.
The Bruin women kicked off events with the mile run, where Olivia Russo ran to a season-best 5:59.50 and a fifteenth-place finish. For the men, Collin Kotz and Griffin Kipchumba were 9th and 11th, running 4:45.79 and 4:50.68, respectively.
The best event of the night came in the 3,000-meter run. Bruin women finished seventh, eighth, and tenth, with Olivia Russo establishing her second season-best of the evening with a 12:24.74 clocking. Alicia Rivera Camargo was next for the Bruins with a time of 12:37.62, while close behind was Ashley Guatemala, who recorded a lifetime best of 12:41.52.
In the men's race, Collin Kotz recorded the fifth fastest time in Bruin history, running 9:20.62, good for ninth place. Griffin Kipchumba placed 16th in 9:50.33.
The Bruins conclude the indoor track season with next Sunday's NSAA Championships on the South Dakota State University campus in Brookings, S.D.
