Seven goal barrage sees Bruins cruise past HLGU

HANNIBAL, Mo. -- Seven different Bruins found the back of the net on Saturday afternoon as the Bellevue University men's soccer team rolled to a 7-0 victory over Hannibal-LaGrange University.

With their fourth win in their last six games, Bellevue improves to 6-5-2 on the year. HLGU has now dropped three straight and is winless in their last four, falling to 2-4-2.

Antonio Capra opened the scoring with his 18th minute penalty and Jake Cover doubled the advantage in the 39th minute with an unassisted tally. Leading 2-0, Matias Daniel-Doren made it a 3-0 lead at halftime, scoring on a pass from Gabriel Dias Juliani in the 41st minute.

Bellevue wasted little time adding on in the second half with Fletcher Hedge scoring from a free kick in the 52nd minute.

Carlos Ortega Arguelles struck in the 60th with an assist to Daniel-Doren and Jose-Miguel Boggio added the sixth goal in the 64th minute from Aphele Nzwanga.

Kevin Becerril finished off the scoring in the 76th minute, scoring a penalty of his own to make it 7-0.

Taariq Ganga and Kaden Simpson combined for five saves with the former making four stops as the Bruin defense posted its fifth shutout of the season.

Nicolas Veneros made five saves in the loss as Bellevue out-shot the Trojans 23-12 overall and 12-5 on goal.

Bellevue travels to Creve Coeur, Mo. on Wednesday, Oct. 4 for a 2 p.m. affair at Missouri Baptist University (5-1-3).
