PAPILLION, Neb. -- Oumar Sissoko scored twice to lead the No. 13 Bellevue University men's soccer team past Waldorf University by a 2-0 score on Wednesday evening at Papillion Landing.
Bellevue improves to 11-4-1 on the year and are now unbeaten in their last eight games (7-0-1). Waldorf sees their overall record dip to 2-7-0.
Sissoko accounted for both first half goals for the Bruins, scoring in the 33rd and 36th minutes. Inaki Aldao assisted his first tally and Gabriel Gaiotto picked up the assist on his second.
The Bruins took that 2-0 lead, along with a 21-0 advantage in shots, into halftime.
AJ Jarvis stopped the only shot he saw on frame to earn the shutout, his first full shutout and the team's sixth of the year.
Despite not adding to their lead, Bellevue continued their dominance into the second half as they finished the game with advantages of 26-5 (10-1 on goal) in shots and 6-1 in corner kicks, respectively.
Player of the Match:
Coach Mark Heath-Preston:
"The wind was a big factor; we played some fantastic stuff tonight but just couldn't find the final ball or finish. Oumar's arrival was a needed one and his first goal was something I didn't think was possible. Zach Robbins had his best game. Between him and Alex Cuenca, they found some great passes in the front guys. We have a big game and test Saturday against McPherson."
