Bruins, Tigers play to 1-1 tie

OMAHA, Neb. -- The Bellevue University men's soccer team played to a 1-1 tie with Central Christian College Wednesday evening at Tranquility Park in Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference action.

The Bruins moved to 2-12-1 overall and 2-0-1 in the MCAC. Central Christian is now 9-6-1 on the season and 1-3-1 in league play.

The Tigers' Ronnie Rocha scored the game's first goal in the 38th minute with a shot in the box following a pass from Rod Gaffoglio. 

Graeme Eaglesham tied the game three minutes later following a cross pass from Michael Conchie that made it past Tiger goalkeeper Alex Akrawi. 

Neither team scored the remainder of the contest. 

Bellevue held a 25-9 advantage in shots and a 10-5 margin in shots on goal. Akrawi registered nine saves in the tie. Bruin goalkeeper Luke Baxter tallied four saves.

The Bruins will return to action on Saturday, Oct. 22 when they host Central Baptist College at 2:30 p.m. at Tranquility Park.
