Rob Brown became Bellevue University’s first golf coach in 2010 and has won 10 conference Coach of the Year honors.

A year after a top three finish at the National Tournament, Brown had Bellevue back among the elite with a sixth place finish at the 2023 NAIA National Championship after a dominating performance at the conference tournament that saw the Bruins claim their 10th conference championship.

Brown guided the Bruins to their highest overall finish in program history in 2021-22 as BU finished third at the 2022 NAIA National Championship. He led BU to its ninth conference tournament title in the 11-year history of the program. 

Brown has mentored 13 All-Americans during his tenure as Bellevue University's men's golf coach. 

During the 2020-21 season, Brown guided BU to a seventh-place showing at the NAIA National Championships as the Bruins won a program-best eight tournament titles.

The abbreviated 2019-20 season saw Bellevue climb to No. 12 in the final NAIA Coaches' Poll after coming in at No. 21 in the Preseason edition of the poll. BU won the NAIA Midwest Invitational and turned in a runner-up finish to host Oklahoma City at the season-opening U.C. Ferguson Classic.

The 2018-19 season marked the Bruins' seventh appearance at the NAIA National Tournament, all under Brown. BU finished 16th at Nationals in 2019 after claiming the Bruins' seventh conference title in eight seasons. 

In 2016-17, Brown guided the Bruins to both their sixth-straight conference championship and NAIA National Tournament appearance. Bellevue claimed team tournament titles at the Saint Gregory's University Cavalier Classic, Nebraska Intercollegiate Championship, and NSAA Tournament.

The 2015-16 season saw Brown direct BU to its fifth-consecutive NAIA National Tournament appearance. The Bruins placed in the top five in nine tournaments, including titles at the North Star Athletic Association Tournament and the Iowa Central Classic. 

Bellevue placed in the top five in six tournaments in 2014-15, including claiming the MCAC Tournament title and AIB Spring Invite.

In 2013-14, Brown guided the Bruins to their third-straight NAIA National Tournament appearance after placing in the top five in 10 tournaments, including the MCAC-NSAA Tournament title.

Brown led the Bruins to a school-best fifth-place finish in the 2013 NAIA National Tournament, while claiming eight-team tournament titles in 2012-13.

In their inaugural season, Brown guided the Bruins to eight top-five tournament finishes, including the 2012 MCAC Tournament championship and advanced to the NAIA National Tournament.

A native of Omaha, Brown has taught golf and been a golf professional for nearly 40 years. He spent 2009-10 teaching golf in South America and working with PGA great Al Gieberger.

Brown was the director and head golf professional at Wakonda Club in Des Moines from 1993-2004. He served the same role at Minikahda Club in Minneapolis, Minn. from 1978-1989.

Brown also served as the Director of Instruction at Stone Eagle Golf Club in Palm Desert, Calif. from 2005-2009.

An accomplished golfer, Brown was the 2008 Nebraska Senior PGA champion. He qualified for the 1997 U.S. Senior Open and the 1996 PGA Senior Championship. Brown was a five-time Iowa PGA Senior champion. He captured the 1995 Iowa State Open and was named the 1995 Iowa Senior Player of the Year.

Brown is married to the former Ann Thompson. The couple resides in Omaha.
