Bruins push lead to 30 strokes after third round

EAGLE, Neb. -- Thomas Gatlin, Dylan Rodgers, and Cayden Wynne are 1-2-3 in the individual standings as the Bellevue University men's golf team shot a third-round-best 10-over 294 to widen their advantage in the North Star Athletic Association Tournament.

Bellevue (-16) enters Tuesday's final round with a 30-stroke lead over second place University of Jamestown (+14), 844-874, in the event being played at the par 71 Woodland Hills Golf Club.

Thomas Gatlin shot a 4-over 75 on Monday and holds a one-stroke lead over teammate Dylan Rodgers, who fired a third round-best even par 71. Cayden Wynne is three strokes off the pace after a 2-over 73 on Monday.

Gatlin posted birdies on No. 5 and No. 18 and made par on nine other holes on the day. He is at 9-under (206) for the tournament.

Rodgers began the day five strokes back of Gatlin but was buoyed by five birdies in his round. He found them on No. 4, No. 8, and No. 9 during a 2-under front nine and posted back-to-back birdies on No. 15 and No. 16 and is now 8-under (207) for the tournament.

Wynne posted an even-par front nine with a birdie on No. 2 and found another birdie on No. 14 as he now stands at 6-under (209).

Totte Uhlan carded a 4-over 75 and Kyle Dale turned in a 6-over 77 on his scorecard. Uhlan posted a 1-over on the back nine and recorded birdies on No. 8, No. 9, and No. 14. Dale's round was highlighted by birdies on No. 5 and No. 16.

Final round play begins tomorrow morning with a shotgun start.
