
BULLHEAD CITY, Ariz. -- Randy Christiansen and Cayden Wynne both moved up multiple spots on the individual leaderboard as the Bellevue University men's golf team finished in ninth place at the 20-team Battle at Laughlin Ranch, which was played at the 7,155-yard, par-72 Laughlin Ranch Golf Course.
The Bruins shot a team score of 308 and finished the tournament at 59-over par (310-305-308).
Host school Wayland Baptist University won the team title with a 54-hole team score of 23-over par (302-282-303). Keiser placed second at 26-over par (293-296-301). No. 1-ranked Oklahoma City University placed third at 27-over par.
WBU's Leonard Lebrun eagled the final hole to tie Kolby Shackleford of Ottawa (Ariz.) University for the individual title at even par.
Christiansen was the top Bruin golfer on the day, firing a 2-over par 74 in Tuesday's final round. He moved up 26 spots on the day into a tie for 56th place in the 100-player field at 20-over par. His round was sparked by consecutive birdies on the par-4, 363-yard 12th hole, and the par-3, 176-yard 13th hole.
Wynne moved up seven spots after firing a 4-over 76 to finish the tournament at 14-over and in a tie for 29th place. Wynne birdied three holes on the day.
Dylan Rodgers carded a 6-over 78 and was the top Bruin golfer in the tournament, finishing at 13-over par and in a tie for 26th place. After recording a 6-over 42 on the back nine, Rodgers played the final nine at even par.
Thomas Gatlin carded an 8-over 80 and finished the tournament at 20-over par and in a tie for 56th place. He had two birdies and eight pars on the day.
Kyle Dale collected a 9-over 81, which put him at 20-over for the tournament, tied with Christiansen and Gatlin at 56th. His round was highlighted by a pair of birdies and seven pars.
The Bruins return to action on Monday-Tuesday, April 7-8, when they head to Manhattan, Kan., to compete in the Midwest Spring National Invite. The 54-hole tournament will be played at the Colbert Hills Golf Course.
