Bruins climb to third with 6-under final round

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. -- Cayden Wynne's final round 67 on Tuesday led the way as the Bellevue University men's golf team climbed four spots to finish in third place at the season-opening U.C. Ferguson Classic.

After scores of 291 (+7) and 282 (-2) yesterday, No. 24-ranked Bellevue turned in a 6-under (278) final round for a third-place finish. Three of five BU scorers shot under par, with another posting an even-par round.

Wynne was Bellevue's number two finisher in the tournament, tying for 24th at 2-over in the 72-golfer field. His 4-under (67) round brought his 54-hole total to 215. Five birdies (No. 1, 4, 14, 16, 18) highlighted his consistent round that saw just No. 17 blemish his bid for a bogey-free round.

Kyle Dale was 5-over (76) on the day and finished tied for 32nd place with a three-round total of 218 (+5). A rough result on holes 1-3, belied an otherwise consistent day that saw Dale par 11 holes, birdie a pair, and bogey just two others.

Ludwig Klingspor turned in his best round of the tournament with an even-par 71 to finish at 8-over (221) in a tie for 40th place. He was 1-over on the front, a bogey on No. 9, but 1-under on the back thanks to birdies on No. 14 and 18 offsetting a second bogey on No. 17.

Individuals Randy Christiansen and Cole Fedderson golfed as individuals on Tuesday.
