Uhlan guides BU to third place at Midwest Spring Invite

MANHATTAN, Kan. -- Senior Totte Uhlan finished in a tie for third place individually to lead the Bellevue University men's golf team to a third-place showing at the 15-team Midwest Spring National Invite played at the 7,278-yard, par 72 Colbert Hills Golf Course. 

The Bruins finished the 54-hole tournament at 28-over par, 22 strokes behind team champion MidAmerica Nazarene University. Friends University placed second at 12-over par. 

Uhlan carded a 1-over 73 and finished the tournament at 2-under par with rounds of 72, 69, and 73. After recording four straight bogeys to end the front nine, Uhlan rebounded with a 2-under 34 on the back nine. 

Randy Christiansen had BU's second-best round on the day, with a 3-over 75. He finished the tournament at 9-over par putting him in a tie for 24th place in the 76-player field. Christiansen had 11 pars and a pair of birdies on the day. 

Dylan Rodgers finished the third round with a 5-over 77, giving him a 7-over total for the tournament. He finished in a tie for 18th place in the individual standings. Rodgers had back-to-back birdies on the 15th and 16th holes. 

Cayden Wynne moved up seven spots into a tie for 43rd place after shooting a 4-over 76 on the day. He finished the tournament at 17-over par. Wynne had one birdie and 13 pars in the third round. 

Rounding out the scoring for the Bruins was Hugo Brandt, who registered an 8-over par 80, putting him at 18-over for the tournament and in a tie for 48th place. 

Trinton Nobles of Friends University took home the individual title, finishing the tournament at 5-under par after shooting a 4-under 68 in the final round. 

The Bruins will next compete in the North Star Athletic Association Championships on April 29-30 in Onalaska, Wis., at the La Cross Country Club.
