BU tied for ninth after two rounds at Laughlin Ranch

LAUGHLIN, Nev. -- The Bellevue University men's golf team is one of three teams tied for ninth place after two rounds of play at The Battle at Laughlin Ranch Vegas.

Texas Wesleyan is the overall team leader through two rounds of play at 7- over 583. They hold a slim one-stroke lead on second place Wayland Baptist (584, +8). Ottawa (585, +2), Keiser (586, +3), and Houston-Victoria (586, +3) round out the top five of the 17-team field at the 6,987-yard, par 72 course.

Dylan Rodgers was the Bruins' top golfer on the day after shooting 4-over through the tournament's first 36 holes. He is tied for 22nd in the 97-golfer field after matching 74s in each of the first two rounds.

Sam Johnson is tied for 23rd after a 6-over day. He carded a 6-over 78 in the first round and followed up with an even par 72 in the second.

Totte Uhlan turned in the best single round score of the day for the Bruins with a 2-under 70 first round. Following an 8-over second round, he is also tied for 32nd at 6-over.

Cayden Wynne is tied for 44th at 8-over. After a first round 78 (+6), he shaved four strokes for a second round 74 (+2).

Randy Christianson is tied for 78th place at 13-over. He followed up his first round 6-over (78) with a second round score of 7-over (79).

Southeastern's Matthew Soucinek holds the individual lead at 6-under in the, a stroke ahead of Wayland Baptist's Benjamin Lubker.

The tournament concludes tomorrow with third round play beginning with a 10:30 a.m. shotgun start.
