Johnson leads BU to 4th place finish at TPC San Antonio

SAN ANTONIO, Texas -- Sam Johnson fired a 1-over par 73 in Tuesday's third round to lead the Bellevue University men's golf team to a fourth-place finish at the eight-team TPC San Antonio NAIA Shoot-Out being played at the TPC San Antonio - Oaks Park Course. Today's course was 7,034 yards and par 72. 

The Bruins finished with a team total of 56-over par (776) for the 45-hole event. Wayland Baptist took home the team title with a 33-over par total of 753. Benedictine University-Mesa placed second, seven strokes back at 40-over par. 

Johnson finished in third place in the 40-player field at 5-over par for the tournament. Three birdies and 12 pars highlighted his round. 

Totte Uhlan finished in a tie for sixth place after shooting a 2-over 74 in the third round for a three-round total of 9-over par. He registered three birdies and 11 pars in the third round. 

Dylan Rodgers fired a 4-over par 76 and finished the tournament at 17-over par, putting him in a tie for 16th place. Rodgers recorded three birdies and nine pars on the day. 

Cayden Wynne shot a 7-over 79, finishing the invite at 25-over par and in 28th place. Three birdies and nine pars sparked his round. 

Nathan Ishaya and Hugo Brandt both finished the tournament in a tie for 34th place at 32-over par. 

The Bruins will travel to Basehor, Kan., on Friday, March 15, to compete in the Falcon Lakes Invite being played at the Falcon Lakes Golf Club.
