Johnson fifth, BU fourth at TPC San Antonio

SAN ANTONIO, Texas -- Through a round and a half of play at the TPC San Antonio NAIA Shoot-Out, freshman Sam Johnson and Totte Uhlan each find themselves among the top 10 to lead the Bellevue University men's golf team to fourth.

Wayland Baptist holds a seven-stroke lead (443-450) over Benedictine-Mesa for the overall team lead with Oklahoma City trailing in third place with a score of 460. Bellevue (474) and Mount Mercy (480) round out the top five.

Bellevue shot 312 in the completed first round and posted a 162 through the first nine holes of the second round.

Sam Johnson, after a first round 74 (+2) and a 38 through nine second round holes, is tied for fifth in the 40-golfer field.

Totte Uhlan carded a team-best even par 72 in the first round and posted a 43 through nine holes in the second. He is tied for 10th overall

Dylan Rodgers, Cayden Wynne, and Nathan Ishaya all shot 83 in the first round with Rodgers following up with a 38 halfway through the second round. Wynne and Ishaya began the second round with scores of 43 and 44, respectively.

Competing as an individual, Hugo Brandt also posted a first round 83 and has logged 47 strokes through nine second round holes.

Wayland Baptist's Benjamin Lubker (-6) is five shots ahead of the Benedictine-Mesa duo of James Mackie and Sabastian Carranza for the individual lead.

Tournament play concludes tomorrow with the second round wrapping up along with the entire third round.
